André Nortjé

Chief Executive Officer – Strate (Pty) Ltd

André Nortjé has been Strate’s Chief Executive Officer since 2018. André’s priority is to ensure that Strate, as South Africa’s principal central securities depository and central collateral platform, serves the financial market.

Under his leadership, Strate has put the appropriate building blocks in place to maintain an efficient, robust, and sustainable financial market infrastructure. André has over 20 years of executive management experience across multiple financial services disciplines and across multiple jurisdictions with a deep understanding of financial markets from both the buy and sell side perspectives.

Before joining Strate, André held a wide variety of executive roles ranging from Treasurer of a commercial bank to multiple Chief Operating Officer positions of Investment Management businesses both in South Africa and in the United Kingdom.
