Bennie van der Westhuizen

Bennie is a seasoned Securities Services Professional with more than 20 years of corporate and transactional banking experience across a range of local and international financial institutions.

Before joining Computershare South Africa, Bennie was the Managing Director for Standard Chartered Bank’s Securities Services business across Africa and the Middle East. Prior to his joining Standard Chartered Bank, Bennie headed up the Custody and Trustee Division of Absa Capital and played a leading role in the acquisition of this business by Standard Chartered Bank.

Bennie has authored a range of articles on the opportunities and development of African Securities Services markets, and regularly participates in industry round table discussions and as speaker at international securities services conferences.

Bennie holds a BCom Accounting and Economics degree from the University of Stellenbosch.
