Carina is a seasoned executive with experience in the mining and financial services industries. She is an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, a fellow and past president of the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa, as well as past president of the Corporate Secretaries International Association.

In addition to acting in an advisory capacity, she has extensive non-executive director and audit committee member and chair experience serving in both public service and commercial companies over the past 20 years. She currently serves as NED for the Institute of Directors South Africa.

Carina is a respected thought leader, with a broad range of academic and other publications and a regular speaker internationally. She is also a member of the Legal500 GC Powerlist 2024 and 2025 and a multiple award winning General Counsel and leader, inter alia, African Legal Awards General Counsel of the year 2020 and 2024, General Counsel of the year Africa 2024 in the Women in Business Law EMEA Awards, In-house Community In-house Counsel of the year South Africa 2023, Corporate and National positive role model in the 8th Gender Mainstreaming Awards 2020 and SADC country winner for Financial Services in the most influential women in business and government awards 2019.
