Intern Statutory Consultant

INDUSTRY JOB TITLE:

Corporate governance, training, advisory and statutory company secretarial services

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Interns will be exposed to a variety of areas, with primary focus on legal and administrative support to the Statutory Team. Will assist the research and governance and compliance with researching specific questions of law and policy, preparing documentation, and administrative duties and responsibilities.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

A tertiary qualification in business, law or relevant discipline would be advantageous

OTHER qualifications, certifications, professional memberships, etc.

  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools
  • Strong administrative and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Administrative Support:

  • Provide support in corporate governance and/or corporate laws assignments;
  • Support internal processes operated by the Statutory Team
  • Write articles and contribute to the booklets on specific governance and compliance topics.
  • Will assist the Statutory Division with researching specific compliance questions of law and policy, preparing legal memoranda.
  • Be part of projects aimed at further improving processes and efficiency of the Statutory Team
  • Perform and support contractual reviews for Team Leaders.
  • Solve and follow up on issues for Team Leaders to ensure that the best possible service can be offered to stakeholders and clients.
  • Adopt a client centric attitude offering the most appropriate solution and excellent service
  • Stay informed about professional knowledge and technical skills in the area of Legal in order to maximise your professional knowledge and to apply it within the business in the best possible manner
 

Statutory Duties:

Assist in the team with all duties related to fulfilling the role of Statutory Consultants as per the FluidRock promise and engagement letter to the
client/s.

Financial Processes:

  • Adhering to FluidRock billing procedures
  • Take accountability for monthly invoicing and upselling
 

Stakeholder Management:

  • Enable effective communication and information flow with internal & external stakeholders (all stakeholders)
  • Build a trusted relationship with all stakeholders, ensuring they are proactively and effectively engaged as required
  • Establish an effective liaison role with all stakeholders to ensure that a two-way liaison channel is created and maintained, and those matters
    concerning FluidRock and relevant stakeholders are addressed effectively and efficiently
  • Create an effective stakeholder liaison network by for example attending relevant meetings and forums
  • Assist with all relationships with FluidRock being corporatised
